Delicious! This is one of my favourite whole food snacks ever, so simple, you do not need a recipe.
Here is what you need: Whole wheat toast or gluten free bread, organic, virgin coconut oil, half an avocado, local organic gouda cheese, garlic powder, sea salt and fresh ground pepper.
Toast your bread, spread a little coconut oil on the toasted bread, sprinkle some garlic powder, add your sliced avocado then the cheese and broil under the broiler until your mouth cannot stop watering :) Season with a little seas salt and fresh ground pepper.
Avocados are filled with GOOD fat; which helps our bowels function properly, keeps our brain working optimally and keeps our heart healthy. Did you know that back in the day sailors would use avocado spread instead of butter?
Avocados also contain fibre, potassium (more than in bananas) and they contain lutein. Lutein is a powerful antioxidant that helps prevent diseases such as certain cancers.
